Notified (www.notified.com) is seeking a Bilingual French Sr. Media Relations Manager in Canada. The Manager must be able to conduct business in both French & English. The Sr. Media Relations Manager will be responsible for expanding the distribution footprint for GlobeNewswire (www.globenewswire.com) press release content with primary focus in media, managing media partners, expanding journalist database, cultivating relationships and establishing a network with journalists and content creators. This manager will also collect and identify trends in content production and distribution venues, promote brand and content readership and assist in managing distribution products and roadmap projects.

Essential Duties :

Responsibilities :

  • Proactively promote and market news content to traditional and online/digital media outlets including all tiers of news organizations, online news portals, and industry-specific media;
  • Build solid, trusted relationships with content partners and to identify cost-effective delivery channels to maximize distribution and footprint of GlobeNewswire news content in North America, with focus primarily in Canada;
  • Direct the development of newsfeed setup from content marketing to completion of distribution setup, with the support from internal development team. Produce and manage goals, schedules and milestones of newsfeed projects;
  • Establish, prioritize and execute tasks to drive efficiencies; plan and complete projects within scheduling parameters. Adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment and work independently to adjust priorities accordingly;
  • On-going relationship management with media partners which includes making sure newsfeeds are operating without issues and partners’ requests are timely managed;
  • Maintain and prepare appropriate content access and usage agreements for content partners; work with corporate legal counsels to execute legal agreements;
  • Collaborate with marketing, commercial, and sales team on GlobeNewswire distribution network expansion plan and to define strategy and deliverables;
  • Active engagement on social media to promote the brand and products;
  • Produce whitepapers, blog posts, and newsletters that provide valuable insights to clients and journalists as industry subject experts;
  • Plan, sponsor, and participate in media conferences or IR/PR industry events to promote brand, products, services to journalists/media communities;
  • Research and actively identify emerging trends in digital news design, SEO, social media, mobile app development to ensure the organization uses and meet the latest technologies in content delivery;
  • Work with internal senior management team on product planning and marketing. Be enthusiastic contributing to all departments in the organization.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education :

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in communications, journalism, media, public relations, and digital marketing, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.

Experience :

  • 10 years of experience in communications, journalism, media, public relations, and digital marketing, or related field, which includes 7+ years of business development experience with media (agency environment is a plus). Digital content development and/or production experience is a plus. Proven success in business development. Proficient in prospecting, building rapport, and closing business.

Specific Knowledge and Skills :

  • Established contacts in content marketing and established relationship with online media outlets; tracked record in content partnership development. Familiar with media landscape and communities throughout Canada and the Quebec province;
  • Extensive hands-on experience with, and a thorough understanding of, all forms of digital content and delivery, online marketing, including display, web sites, social media;
  • Basic understanding of various technologies in content format and delivery mechanisms (plain-text, XML, HTML, NewsML, metadata, etc.) required. Familiarity and comfortable with communicating technical requirements and learning complex backend tools on product platforms;
  • Superior relationship management and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience delivering compelling presentations to large audiences;
  • Self-starter with excellent time-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Detail oriented;
  • Prior professional experience working with minimal supervision;
  • Embrace sharing ideas and debating on opinions; collaborative attitude and strong work ethic;
  • Strong knowledge of SEO and social media trends;
  • Experience in designing/developing apps or websites for mobile devices is a plus;
  • Previous background in newswire and media industry;
  • Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel and Power Point required;
  • Bilingual in English and French required;
  • Willingness to travel to participate in industry events.

Travel / Physical Demands

  • Travel typically less than 20%. Hybrid or remote work model. No special physical demands required.
